I have just added a small side table to the For Sale section. I've not made an Aviation Piece for a while but here we have a small side table measuring 450mm high x 320mm diameter, made in Scottish Walnut inlaid with Aluminium & Aluminium detail on the plinth. But the star of the show is a rare piece from significant aircraft Avro Vulcan XH558's Rolls Royce Olympus engines. This CSDU Drive Plate is fully certified & signed by the Vulcan to the Sky Trust, this table is a true one off never to be repeated and is currently available so grab yourself a piece of everyday useable aviation history. For price & shipping or more information on this piece or any other enquiry's please contact me at info@stevenstuart.co.uk Sold.

I have just released an edgy new video of the Tornado Lamp which is also listed in the For Sale section, or get in touch for more information: Info@stevenstuart.co.uk August 2022 marks our 21st anniversary of starting SGS Cabinetmakers, and we have decided to give everything a much needed visual overhaul, so there is a brand new website, a new Logo, new stationary and now an Instagram page if that's your thing.
The one thing that will not change is our Standards and Service, if anything clients have 50 times more choice, options, techniques & even higher standards available to them now than 21yrs ago, due to Steven's continuing reinvestment and growing the business to where it is now. I would like to take this opportunity to Thank my long suffering partner for her eternal belief in me (and putting up with me & the long hours in the workshop!) my family for all the help and support over the years without which I would never have survived this long, my book keeper of 21yrs who has probably the most harrowing job of all! My vast collection of suppliers & contacts who manage to keep me stocked with everything I need to create the sublime to the ridiculous! And last but certainly not least to all my Fantastic & Patient Clients, past, present and future who's ceaseless list of requirements keep my business going and my brain so close to meltdown ! Thank You All. Without you none of what you see here would be possible. I will leave you with a pic of my very first commission, hard to believe this was 21yrs ago. Stevie....... Just added to the For Sale section this very special Coffee Table made from a Rolls Royce RB199 solid Titanium Compressor Disc that came from an RAF Tornado, mounted on a base painstakingly made from solid Scottish Walnut with Aluminium inlay then finished with oil. the table measures 900mm in diameter and 400mm high. these are made to order, contact me at Info@stevenstuart.co.uk for more information on lead times, price and shipping. Big excitement in the workshop today as my Scottish Walnut tree finally arrived from the sawmill, i have been waiting over 2yrs to get it from freshly felled to air then fully kiln dried and i am not disappointed, this stuffs so rare in over 23yrs in the trade I've never seen it for sale so rather than just take a few boards i decided to bite the financial bullet and take the whole tree ! As you can see from the photos i prepared a quick sample from one of the backs, (remember this sample piece is 75% Sapwood with only a little bit of Heartwood a third of the way up.) And its just stunning, the colour is a mellow coffee brown with vivid dark brown rays, easily some of the best Walnut i have ever seen. So if your in the market for the ultimate piece of furniture in the ultimate in native timber here's your chance as once its gone its gone. i might also be persuaded to do some stock blanks if your looking to have a new rifle or shotgun stock made ? Stevie... Remember the scrap part from Vulcan Bomber XH558 i bought from the charity auction ? well what i thought was going to be a straight forward conversion turned out to be anything but ! still its finished now and i am pretty pleased with the results, the plinth is made from laminated Scottish Elm & Walnut, the fittings are made from Plexiglass as i wanted total transparency to view the engineering, the electical fittings are Bakelite to stay true to the aviation theme, i turned the three feet from stainless steel and to finish it off i had a glass shade hand blown to keep the dust off. |
Latest News. There's not huge amount of excitement to be had in the world of making furniture and antique restoration but i will try and update this page with all the latest going's on, products and tech here. |
